Larry Bird has been linked as a candidate for the Sacramento Kings' president position. Bird is meeting with the Kings' new owner Vivek Ranadive today and will ask for $5 million in salary and possibly partial ownership of the team, according to Peter Vecsey.

Bird has been considered a favorite of Ranadive, who is also believed to be considering Mike Dunleavy, Chris Mullin, Chris Wallace and Travis Schlenk.

After coaching the Pacers from 1997-200, Bird filled the role of president of the Pacers' basketball operations from 2003 to 2012. He was named 2011-12 NBA Executive of the Year.
