Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will join Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and Indiana Pacers swingman Paul George as some of the big names that have been invited to the USA Basketball camp this summer. The list, released Wednesday by NBA.com, is a collection of 27 NBA players that will try out for a spot on a team that will travel to Spain in Summer 2014 for the World Championships.

USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo spoke to the importance of this summer's camp:

“The group of players we have assembled for the mini-camp are extremely talented and very versatile. This is an important opportunity for each one of them because we will be evaluating which players will continue to be involved in future USA National Team training camps and teams.”

The mini-camp, scheduled for July 22-25 in Las Vegas, will be attended by USA Basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski, the Duke coach who led previous Olympic teams to gold, and Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau and New Orleans Pelicans head coach Monty Williams, who will be assistants on the team.
