The Orlando Magic waived veteran forward Al Harrington, the team announced today.

Harrington, 33, played just 10 games for the Magic last season. He arrived in Orlando from Denver as part of last summer's four-team, 12-player, five-pick blockbuster trade that sent Dwight Howard to the Lakers.

Harrington was set to earn $14.7 million over the next two seasons, with half his salary guaranteed. The 15-year veteran is 37th among active players in points scored.

Orlando continues to shed salaries as it rebuilds following the Howard era. Hedo Turkoglu is trying to work out a buyout with the Magic, which would leave the team with three fully-guaranteed contracts next summer, as John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com notes.
