The Indians acquired Jason Kubel from the Diamondbacks, as first reported by Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.

MLB.com reports the Indians will send a minor league player to be named later and cash to the Diamondbacks.

Kubel was recently designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks. The Braves and Orioles reportedly were also interested in obtaining the left-handed hitting outfielder.

Kubel, 31, has had a disappointing season offensively, hitting just .220 with five home runs and 32 RBI, a dramatic drop-off from a career-best 2012 season. His MLB career numbers are a .265 average, plus 139 home runs and 551 RBI.
