Philadelphia 76ers forward Royce White, who missed all of last season as a rookie with the Houston Rockets because of an anxiety disorder and other mental health issues, is reportedly under investigation by Texas police for an alleged domestic dispute with an ex-girlfriend at his Houston-area residence earlier this summer.

The incident reportedly took place in June when a 9-1-1 call was placed to report a laceration above the eye of Tania Mehra, White's former girlfriend, according to TMZ which posted pictures of her cut and subsequent damage to his home. At the time, Mehra reportedly attributed the cut to an "accidental fall" but two months later, Mehra filed a police report on Aug. 30 to admit that she had lied about the incident and that White was the reason for the laceration.

Mehra reportedly lied initially about the cause of the incident because she did not want to "damage" White's career but in August stated that White had allegedly assaulted her after she became angered when he reportedly made advances toward her friend. Mehra also claims that White threw a candlestick at her but missed and instead broke a mirror inside the home.

According to the report, the case in under investigation and no charges have been filed against White or Mehra.

The news comes as another off-the-court issue for the 22-year-old White, who has yet to play an NBA game after being selected 16th overall by the Rockets in the 2012 draft. He has expressed frustration with the Rockets organization for not being understanding of his anxiety disorder and for not providing the resources that he feels he needs to deal with the issue. White refuses to fly on airplanes because of his severe anxiety and has instead played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League. In July, he was traded to the Sixers but it remains to be seen whether he will make an appearance in an NBA game next season.
