Louisville guard Kevin Ware, who suffered a gruesome leg injury during the team's run to a national title, is about four weeks away from resuming basketball activities, according to a tweet by sports information director Kenny Klein.

Ware suffered a broken tibia during the Cardinals' regional final victory over Duke. Clips of the injury on YouTube are titled things like, "Worse sports injury ever." His teammates said Ware's attitude after the injury helped inspire them to the title run.

Louisville coach Rick Pitino predicted in July that Ware could return by October. That would line up with the information in Klein's tweet on Tuesday.

The Cardinals topped Luke Winn's early top 25 for next season. Any contributions from Ware would help as Louisville tries to defend its title.
