Report: Twins, pitcher Ricky Nolasco agree to 4-year, $49 million deal

The Minnesota Twins and pitcher Ricky Nolasco agreed to a four-year deal worth $49 million, with a club option for a fifth year, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.

According to the report, Nolasco will make $12 million a season from 2014-17, and the club option is worth $13 million with a $1 million buyout.

The Twins pitching staff was atrocious last season, ranking last in the majors with a 5.26 ERA and opponents hit .280 off their pitchers, also good for last in MLB.  Their starting rotation was no better coming in with an ERA of 4.81, which ranked next to last in the big leagues.

Nolasco, 30, has a career record of 89-75 in eight seasons with the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers acquired him in a trade last July, and Nolasco went 8-3 with a 3.52 ERA while with the Dodgers.
