Kings forward Rudy Gay suffers Achilles injury

Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay injured his left Achilles in Wednesday night's game against the Houston Rockets, the team announced.

The team provided no other updates about the injury.

Gay was injured in the first quarter of the game and the team announced he would not return to action.

Gay is averaging 20.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in 20 games for the Kings this season after being traded from the Toronto Raptors.

He has averaged 22 points in his last 10 games, including scoring 41 points in an 114-97 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
