Philadelphia 76ers retire Allen Iverson's number

The Philadelphia 76ers honored Allen Iverson Saturday night with halftime festivities that culminated in the retiring of his No. 3 jersey.
His name and number now hang in the Wells Fargo rafters, alongside immortalized Sixers players Charles Barkley, Maurice Cheeks, Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, Julius Erving, Hal Greer and Bobby Jones.
Iverson, Philadelphia's darling, was selected by the 76ers out of Georgetown with the No. 1 overall draft pick in 1996. He played parts of 12 seasons with Philadelphia, finishing as the franchise's second all-time scorer behind Greer. He ranks 21st on the NBA's all-time scoring list with 24,368 points.

During his 14-year NBA career, he earned 11 consecutive All-Star selections and the 2001 NBA MVP award. He was a seven-time All-NBA selection, a four-time NBA scoring champion, a two-time All-Star Game MVP and the 1997 Rookie of the Year.
