Notre Dame head women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw says her relationship with University of Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma has soured over the years, according to Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch.

McGraw says that Auriemma did not show the Irish proper respect when they defeated the Huskies and that there is now animosity between the programs.

"We don't have a relationship," McGraw said. "I think that (the civility) got lost. When we were in the same conference (the Big East) I think there was a modicum of it but I think after beating them and not feeling any respect from that, we lost something."

The AP Coach of the Year also said it is "a fair assumption" to say the teams hate each other, calling it a "fierce rivalry."
