Mexico's Luis Montes was injured during a friendly match against Ecuador on Saturday afternoon. Montes fell to the turf after his leg came in contact with Ecuador's Segundo Castillo.

According to Fox Sports, Mexican players were in tears while the midfielder was stretchered off the field. Montes suffered a tibia and fibula fracture, and will be out for the World Cup.

Montes' injury is a devastating blow to Mexico as it heads into Brazil. The team's first World Cup match is against Cameroon on June 13. Montes currently plays for Club Léon.
