Quarterback Peyton Manning is not just an outsized figure in the history of the Indianapolis Colts, but a crucial piece of the story of Indianapolis itself.

Now, it appears the Crossroads of America is set to welcome another transitional figure. Before Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, women's basketball was perennially overlooked; now, it has exploded into the mainstream of popular culture.

On Tuesday, the Fever shared video of Manning speaking glowingly of Clark while promoting Full Court Press, a series about women's college basketball he produced for ESPN+.

"I really enjoyed getting to know Caitlin throughout this series," Manning said. "She's a (Kansas City) Chiefs fan; I'll forgive her for that. But she did say she kind of grew up watching me play."

Manning then revealed how he's helped Clark make herself at home since she was drafted out of Iowa on April 15.

"She's gonna love Indianapolis. I gave her all my contacts at the airport, at St. Elmo's," Manning said. "Some behind the ropes things in Indianapolis. It's a great place for her to play. I'm looking forward to watching her."

Indiana opens its season on Tuesday against the Connecticut Sun.
