U.S. international goalkeeper Brad Guzan is yet to make a Premier League start with Aston Villa since joining the Birmingham side in July, but that hasn't stopped the 24-year-old from settling in nicely to his new home.

According to the towering keeper, he owes a lot of his comfort to his mentor and fellow American, Brad Friedel.

"Being able to train with him day in and day out, and take away from experiences he had as a young goalkeeper, is a pretty good situation to be in," said Guzan of his Villa teammate.

Since his move across the pond, Guzan has only made one appearance for Villa, a 2-1 loss in the Carling Cup, but that doesn't phase him as the former Chivas USA man is content being Friedel's understudy for the time being.

"Every day in training I'm learning from him and trying to get better, but also pushing him, and hopefully I'm making him better as well," said Guzan of how things are going thus far with Friedel.

Before joining Aston Villa in July, Guzan made 82 appearances for Chivas USA during his three years with the team. He has also started nine times for the U.S. national team.
