Before the start of the Clausura 2009 season, Francisco "Panchito" Mendoza joined the club of his dreams as he left MLS and returned home to play with Guadalajara.

Now, Mendoza is off on another far-flung journey, this time to the jungles of southern Mexico. Mendoza joined Jaguares and has left the Chivas family for the first time in his career.

On the day of the so-called Mexican Draft - which is essentially a place clubs gather to transfer players under contract from one club to another - Guadalajara sent Mendoza packing.

The last member to depart from the 2005 Chivas USA squad, Mendoza expressed anger when he learned that he had been made eligible for transfer.

"What can you do?" Mendoza told reporters before heading south.

Mendoza had also expressed a bit of anger with the club.

"They had talked to me over the last two weeks about how they weren't going to make any moves," Mendoza said. "It really bothered me, but that's something you only see here in Mexico."

Mendoza played in just three games for Guadalajara. He is also the third of four reinforcements brought in for the Clausura 2009 season to have left the club.
