American Brad Guzan has been voted Aston Villa's Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Year awards following his first season as the club's No. 1 goalkeeper.

The 28-year-old took over from Shay Given as Villa's starter last September for the third Premier League game of the season.

Guzan joined Brad Friedel (Blackburn 2003), Brian McBride (Fulham 2006), Clint Dempsey (Fulham 2011 and 2012) and Stuart Holden (Bolton 2011) as the only Americans to win club player of the year awards since the Premier League started in 1992.

Guzan was selected man of the match six times this season and was second five times. In voting by fans for the Terrace Trophy, Guzan had 33 points to 30 for forward Andreas Weimann.
