Defender Tal Ben Haim has been loaned from Queens Park Rangers to Major League Soccer's Toronto FC, where he rejoins former QPR teammate Ryan Nelson.

The 31-year-old Israeli made six appearances since signing in January with QPR. Nelson retired as a player in January to become Toronto's coach.

Ben Haim played for Israeli Premier League club Maccabi Tel Aviv, making his pro debut in April of 2001, and went on to Bolton, Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland, Portsmouth and West Ham. He has made 71 appearances for Israel.

The loan was announced Thursday.
