Watch: U.S. WC hopeful Wondolowski scores twice for Earthquakes vs. Whitecaps

Chris Wondolowski continues to build his case for inclusion on Jürgen Klinsmann's final 23-man World Cup roster, which must be submitted to FIFA by June 2nd, now less than a month away. The San Jose Earthquakes forward, who led his team during the 2013 season in goals (11) and shots (101), picked up his fourth and fifth goals of the 2014 MLS season against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night.
His first goal of the game came in the 45th minute on a penalty kick after Alan Gordan drew a foul by Jay DeMerit in the box. Wondolowski took it and converted it to bring the Earthquakes back into the game after they fell behind 3-0 in the first half:
In second-half stoppage time, he struck again.
A poor clearance from DeMerit fell to Wondolowski, who was unmarked about 16 yards from goal. After settling with his first touch, he took a fairly weak shot while reaching with his left foot that took a deflection off DeMerit and trickled past David Ousted in the Whitecaps' goal:
