Wayne Rooney on Manchester United squad for United States tour

Manchester United announced some details of the team they will be bringing to the United States for Tour 2014. New manager Loius van Gaal will bring most of their World Cup players, including Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, David De Gea, and Shinji Kagawa.

The team will leave for the pre-season tour on Friday, July 18, and their final squad will not be confirmed until then. Man U's first match will be against the LA Galaxy in the Chevrolet Cup at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday, July 23.

The eight teams in the International Champions Cup ( AC Milan, AS Roma, Internazionale, Liverpool, Manchester City, Olympiacos and Real Madrid), will be divided into two groups. The group winners will play in the final at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami on Monday, August 4.

According to HITC Sport, players are usually allowed at least four weeks off following a major tournament, but since the English national team failed to make it out of the group stage of the World Cup, those players were expected to be a part of the friendlies that Man U will play in the United States.
