Argentina has neglected to bring players to its pre-match press conferences in the last four matches, and it has come at a cost.

FIFA announced that it has fined the Argentina FA 300,000 Swiss Francs (about $336,215) for failing to comply with its procedural regulations. Only manager Alejandro Sabella has been present ahead of matches against Nigeria (final group stage game), Switzerland (round of 16), Belgium (quarterfinals) and the Netherlands (semifinals) when at least one player is required to attend the sessions as well.

As FIFA states:

The objective of the said regulations is inter alia to allow media, and ultimately fans, to have an opportunity to follow a team’s preparations, while also allowing each team to have the best possible environment for those preparations.

Argentina has one more pre-match press conference, Saturday's that precedes the World Cup final against Germany.
