Manchester United and Adidas have reached a 10-year, $1.3 billion agreement to produce the team's kits, the AP reports

Manchester United and Adidas have reached a 10-year, $1.3 billion agreement to produce the team's kits, the AP reports.

At $128 million per season, it is the richest uniform agreement in soccer. The contract begins with the 2015-16 Premier League season.

The news comes on the heels of Nike's decision not to renew its partnership with the team.

Nike has one more season as kit maker, recently unveiling jerseys featuring a gold Chevrolet logo for the start of the American automaker's $559 million, seven-year jersey sponsorship deal with the team.

Nike also recently lost the rights to Arsenal's uniforms, with the Gunners officially making the switch to Puma for the start of this season. Adidas notably produces kits for Real Madrid and Chelsea. 

United finished a disappointing seventh in last season's Premier League.
