Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos officially signed with Real Madrid on Thursday, the club announced.

A Spanish report from AS.com Wednesday said a deal for the German international was imminent.

No terms of Kroos's transfer were announced, but The Guardian reports Real Madrid paid a transfer fee of approximately £20 million and that Kroos agreed to a six-year deal worth about £5.3 million annually after tax.

Kroos' contract with Bayern Munich had one year remaining, but he reportedly turned down the team's renewal offer. The Guardian reported that Kroos met with his agent Tuesday while vacationing in Majorca after Germany's World Cup victory.

“We thank Toni Kroos for his time in Munich,” said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the Bayern chief executive. “We have achieved great success with him here. We wish him and his family all the best in Madrid and with Real.”

Kroos finished the 2014 FIFA World Cup with two goals and four assists. Both goals came during Germany's 7-1 victory over Brazil in the semifinal game.
