Cordoba finished in seventh place in Liga Adelante last season, but were still promoted to La Liga for the 2014-15 season for the first time since 1972. The team's leading scorer was Xisco, who scored 10 league goals last season.

This offseason Cordoba was busy on the transfer market as they prepared for their La Liga run. The club's new additions include a trio of players with La Liga experience in Fede Cartabia, Jose Carlos and Fidel.
