LONDON (AP) — Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has publicly questioned the work ethic of his winger Adel Taarabt, saying the Morocco international is refusing to train properly and is "about three stone overweight."

Redknapp says Taarabt is "not fit to play football, unfortunately. He played in a reserve team game the other day, and I could have run about more than he did."

Speaking after Sunday's 3-2 loss to Liverpool in which Taarabt was not involved, Redknapp added "what am I supposed to keep saying, 'Keep getting your 60, 70 (thousand pounds) a week but don't train? What's the game coming to?"

The 25-year-old Taarabt has been restricted to three games this season because of ankle problems. He spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan.
