Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: Team has 'lack of trust'
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said he was worried about his team’s form after its 2-0 home defeat in the League Cup to Newcastle, according to FIFA.com.
The defeat knocked City out of the League Cup.
City is winless in its last three matches in all competitions, giving up two goals in each game, including a draw at CSKA Moscow and a loss at West Ham.
"My feeling is that we are not playing well. We are in a difficult moment with a lack of trust. We are conceding too easy goals and we are not scoring the chances we have to score,” Pellegrini said, according to FIFA.com.
Pellegrini said the squad’s problems start with giving up too many easy goals and not capitalizing on scoring opportunities when they arise.
To make matters worse for Manchester United, forward David Silva played only nine minutes after suffering a knee injury in the Newcastle match. Pellegrini said the club will evaluate the injury on Thursday.

Manchester City sits third in the Premier League table, two points behind Southampton and six points behind Chelsea, who leads the table with 23 points.
"Of course we must be worried -- we didn't win the three games we played this week. We must be worried about that but we must find a solution and we must address it," Pellegrini said.
