BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) Both women's games scheduled for Wednesday in the International Tournament of Brasilia have been postponed because of heavy rain in the Brazilian capital.

The U.S. was due to play Argentina and Brazil was scheduled to face China at the Mane Garrincha Stadium. The games were rescheduled for Thursday.

Brazil has already reached the final of the four-team tournament, while the top-ranked Americans need to beat Argentina by several goals and hope that China loses to Brazil.

Brazil beat the U.S. 3-2 on Sunday with three goals by five-time world player of the year Marta. The Americans had opened with a 1-1 draw against China, while Brazil routed Argentina 4-0.

The tournament serves as preparation for the 2015 World Cup in Canada. Brazil, China and the U.S. have qualified.
