Brazilian striker Hulk has signed a contract extension with Zenit Saint Petersburg of the Russian Premier League, the club announced Monday

The value of Russia's currency, the ruble, has decreased significantly in recent months as declining oil prices have destabilized the Russian economy. According to the Associated Press, Russian clubs pay their players in euros or dollars but set their budgets in rubles.

Hulk, 28, has 11 goals in 25 games for Zenit this season. He has 35 goals in 80 career games with the club.
