Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, Carlos Vela, Adres Guardado, and Miguel Layun are among the big names on Mexico's 35-man provisional roster for the Gold Cup, which was released on Wednesday along with the United States' and the rest of CONCACAF.

The squad also includes Giovani and Jonathan Dos Santos.

The Mexicans will bring a largely first-choice squad to the competition, a move that was expected after the team named a mix of first-team and fringe players on its roster for the 2015 Copa America. The Gold Cup begins three days after the final of the Copa America.

Like the rest of the teams in the competition, Mexico must trim its list of 35 players to 23 at some point within the next three weeks. Gold Cup teams are able to replace players on their squads after the group stage, but replacements must come from the initial list of 35.

Mexico opens its Gold Cup campaign against Cuba in Chicago on July 9th. El Tri exited the last Gold Cup in the semifinals after winning the previous two editions of the tournament.
