Report: U.S. investors have interest in Everton F.C.

American investors with ties to MLS’ Sporting Kansas City are looking into purchasing the Premier League club Everton, according to a BBC Sport report.
The club is reportedly going for an asking price of £225m, or roughly $345 million US dollars, as the report cited City of London financial sources.
However, a Sporting Kansas City spokesman told MLSsoccer.com that “there is no truth to the rumors.” A Sporting KC spokesperson told ESPN something similar.
Mike Illig, a representative for Sporting Kansas City, posted a photo of his trip to Goodison Park to Twitter on Thursday using the hashtag “rumors are fun.” Illig’s father Cliff is the club’s principal investor.
