United manager Louis van Gaal announced the news after the team traveled to Denmark to play FC Midtjylland in a Europa League match on Thursday.
The striker has been the primary source of scoring for Manchester United recently, scoring seven goals in his last nine games.
United currently sits fifth in the Premier League standings, 12 points behind leader Leicester City.
