Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea was pulled from the starting lineup minutes before the club’s Europa League match against Danish club FC Midtjylland after going down with a non-contact injury during warmups.
Backup Sergio Romero started in net.
While warming up for the match, De Gea dove to his left and appeared to suffer a non-contact lower body injury.
De Gea, 25, is widely considered one of the top goalkeepers in the world. Manchester United attempted to sell him to Real Madrid at the August transfer deadline but the deal was held up to a paperwork problem.
Romero has made seven appearances since being signed as a free transfer from Sampdoria this summer.
