Both Mexico and Venezuela are already through to the Copa America knockout stage, but first place in Group C likely means avoiding Argentina in the quarterfinals, so finishing top is of the utmost importance when the two sides meet in Houston.

Mexico needs just a draw to secure first place by virtue of having a better goal differential than Venezuela, which has opened eyes with wins over Jamaica and Uruguay. La Vinotinto must win–and snap Mexico's 21-game unbeaten run–if they are to pull off the surprise of the tournament and finish first in the group.

With one more goal, Mexico's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez will tie the national record, currently held by Jared Borgetti (46).
