Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named to Sweden’s provisional 35-man roster for the Rio Olympics, the Swedish Football Federation announced Wednesday.

Sweden coach Hakan Ericson said that Ibrahimovic, along with other players currently competing in Euro 2016, was not initially considered for the Olympic squad. That changed after he had a chance to speak with the former Paris Saint-Germain star.

“In the initial phase we felt that those playing the Euros can’t double up, but I’ve had a talk with Zlatan,” Ericson said.

“It could be a new phase in his career, and Zlatan has said that he is willing to wait until after the Euros [to decide]. I want to keep open the tiniest gap that might exist, because it would be fantastic to bring Zlatan.”

The finals for Euro 2016 take place on July 10, meaning Ibrahimovic would have a little under a month before the Olympics if Sweden were to advance all the way to the end of the tournament.

The Olympics run from Aug. 5 to Aug. 22.
