Serie A club Juventus has signed forward Gonzalo Higuain from rival Napoli, Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta confirmed to reporters Tuesday.

Higuain, 28, reportedly completed a medical with Juventus over the weekend and agreed to a deal to join the team. with Higuain’s buyout clause reportedly in the range of $98 million. According to BBC.com, the move is the most expensive Italian domestic transfer ever and the third highest of all time

The Argentine striker led Serie A with a league-record 36 goals last season, and had two years left on his deal after joining Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013.

Juventus has been heavily rumored in talks to sell midfielder Paul Pogba to Manchester United for a substantial fee even higher than what Higuain reportedly cost. Higuain would fill a need for Juve up front, with striker Alvaro Morata returning to Real Madrid after the club exercised its buy-back clause.

Higuain had also been linked to Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
