Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is readying to sell up to eight members of his first team squad in order to help fund a successful bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

The 67-year-old has already failed with £30m and £40m bids for the winger as the principality club play hard ball, but he is apparently hell bent on bringing Lemar into the club this summer.

As reported by the Mail, Caril Jenkinson, Kieran Gibbs, Calum Chambers, Lucas Perez, Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud could all be moved on in order to help with operation: Lemar.

Monaco have already lost Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko to the Premier League this summer, and are also set to lose Benjamin Mendy.

The dismantling of their title-winning team was expected, but Leonardo Jardim and the powers that be are determined to squeeze as much money as possible out of Arsenal for Lemar.

Reports in France have claimed the Gunners are way off at the moment, and that Monaco want a staggering £80m to part ways with the 21-year-old.

Of the players listed, Arsenal would only expect to receive 'big' money for Olivier Giroud - the striker is a proven goalscorer and has been linked with a move to Everton who have not been shy in flashing the cash this summer.
