Bookmakers Back Tottenham to Kick Off Their Transfer Season with Bournemouth's Josh King

Wednesday July 19th, 2017

Bournemouth's Josh King looks most likely to join Tottenham this summer if he is to leave the Cherries, with Everton also holding a chance of snapping up the Norwegian.

Spurs are yet to make a dent in the current transfer window whilst their fierce rivals begin to start spending some serious money. With all of the Premier League 's top clubs looking to strengthen their hand ahead of next campaign, Tottenahm seem happy to leave it late before signing anyone, but that hasn't stopped them from being linked with various players.

One such player is Bournemouth's Josh King, who according to SkyBet, is at 5/2 odds of joining Spurs this summer - Tottenham having been linked with the striker since his drastic upturn in form during the second half of last season.

The north London club aren't the only ones at close odds to getting his signature, though. Everton, who have already shown this window that they will happily spend as much money as necessary, stand at 3/1 to land King.

However, according to SkyBet, the 25-year-old is most likely to remain on the south coast this summer - 8/11 says that he will remain a Cherry next season.

While Spurs become favourites to sign the Bournemouth man, they're also being linked with AC Milan's Suso as well as Everton's Ross Barkley.

A potential £19m deal is in the offing for Suso's services; the winger has proven in Italy that he has bags of quality, and at only 23-years-old, he could prove a steal in today's market.

The same is unlikely to be said for Barkley. The same age as Suso, less consistent but a lot more expensive. At £50m Spurs would be unlikely to move for the midfielder at this time. That darned 'English tax'.
