Chelsea are ready to hand Tammy Abraham a new £50k-per-week contract - double what he is already earning - to secure his long-term future at the club and fight off any interest from other teams.

According to Standard Sport, talks are scheduled to take place at the end of the season, when Chelsea will look to extend the contract of the young striker who still has two years to run on his current deal.

Abraham has spent the season on loan at Championship side Bristol City, where he has scored 26 goals in all competitions, breaking Moussa Dembélé’s previous record for goals scored by a teenager in the second tier.

The 19-year-old has been in red-hot form and has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, who may look to take advantage of his current contract situation.

But Abraham is highly-rated by current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and Chelsea have no plans on letting him leave on a permanent basis.

If they can strike an agreement with the teenager, it is likely he will be loaned out to a Premier League club next season, with reported interest coming from Everton, Leicester City and recently promoted Brighton.

The Blues may be in the market for a new star striker in the summer, with reports suggesting that Diego Costa could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

There have been strong rumours of a return for Romelu Lukaku, while other names linked include Alexis Sánchez and Álvaro Morata, the Real Madrid striker.
