Fulham have completed the signing of 23-year-old defender Marcelo Djaló after he impressed last season with Spanish second division side CD Lugo. The defender will join Fulham on a three-year deal and the club will hold an option to extend his contract into 2021.

The young defender has moved to Craven Cottage with an incredible list of clubs that he's played for behind him. Djaló, however, has failed to consistently hold a first team place wherever he has moved to, having been involved with seven different clubs in just five years.

The 23-year-old was on loan at CD Lugo last season from Italian giants Juventus and he completed a permanent move to the Spanish side on July 1. Just two days later and Djaló has joined the Championship side for an undisclosed fee.

Talking to Fulham's club website about the move, the former Real Madrid youth player said: "The truth is, for me it is a proud moment. It’s a big club, an emblem of the city, and for me, it’s a proud moment.

“Quite simply, I want to be here, I want to work here, I want to grow as a person and a footballer at this great club.”

Fulham fans are still hoping their side will complete the signings of Chelsea duo Tomáš Kalas and Lucas Piazon, both of who played Fulham on loan last season.

After finishing in the play-off spots but failing to claim coveted promotion to the Premier League, Fulham will be hoping Djaló can help Fulham fight to regain their status.
