Newcastle United Confirm the Signing of Norwich Star Jacob Murphy for Fee in the Region of £12m

Newley promoted Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of 22-year-old winger Jacob Murphy. The young Englishman will join the Premier League side from Norwich City for a fee believed to be in the region of £12m.

Newcastle are also believed to be close to finalising a deal for Javier Manquillo. The Atlético Madrid right-back spent last season on loan with the Magpies rivals Sunderland, impressing manager Rafa Benítez.

Murphy, a Newcastle United fan, spoke about his new club in his first interview. He spoke about his first game seeing the Magpies with his brother. 

Murphy saw Newcastle beat Dutch side PSV Eindhoven 2-1 at St. James Park, with goals from Alan Shearer and Gary Speed either side of a Mateja Kežman penalty.
