Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper for next season, and has his eye on a loan move for Liverpool's Adam Bogdan.

The Reds man has been out since November with a serious knee injury but he is close to full fitness and Jurgen Klopp is keen to send him out on loan to get some game time.

According to the Daily Mail, Warburton will let Vladimir Stojkovic leave this summer and will then proceed in his pursuit of Bogdan, who has two years left on his current deal with Liverpool.

The Hungarian shot-stopper has extensive experience in the Premier League and Championship, playing for Bolton Wanderers for eight seasons prior to his move to Anfield in 2015.

Stephen Henderson and Jordan Smith will be the two keepers left at the club following Stojkovic's departure and former Forest player Gary Birtles believes they simply have to make a new signing.

He wrote in the Nottingham Post that he believes both Henderson and Smith have bright futures but then said: "But right now, this season, if Forest do have ambitions to climb the Championship table and even perhaps flirt with the play-off places, then they need a keeper with real quality."

Bogdan could be a viable solution as Forest look to bounce back after a hugely disappointing season in 2016/17 which almost saw them relegated.

So far this summer, Forest have already added highly-rated Hibernian striker Jason Cummings to their roster and adding a goalkeeper of significant clout would be another huge step in the right direction.
