The Polish stopped has spent the last two seasons on loan at Roma, and in that time he has enjoyed somewhat of a renaissance - last season in particular he was outstanding between the sticks.

He was ousted after the Gunners signed Petr Cech from Chelsea, but a lot of supporters have pleaded for the 27-year-old to return and replace his replacement.

But Szczesny has made the move to Turin in a deal that could rise to €15.1m, but he did take some time out to reflect on his time at Arsenal.

He said: "I remember being a young boy in Poland, watching David Seaman, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and others play for Arsenal. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would get a chance to play for the club I supported as a little kid. When I was approached by Arsenal in 2005 my world changed forever.

"I may not be an Arsenal player no more but I will carry the Arsenal name with me wherever I go and I will do so with great pride. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner! ❤"

The lengthy post also paid tribute to manager Arsene Wenger and other important figures at the club, and he placed on record his wishes to see the glory days of Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and David Seaman return the club once again in the Premier League.
