Lucas Leiva complete his £5m move to Lazio and the tributes from Reds supporters are still pouring in.

The Brazilian midfielder brought to an end his decade-long stint on Merseyside, and it's pretty safe to say he has been recognised and appreciated for being a tremendous servant to the football club.

Lucas failed to win many people round during his first few seasons at Anfield, but showed the levels of dedication required to make a successful career at a big club and establish himself as a fan favourite, despite never being a Fernando Torres, a Luis Suarez, a Philippe Coutinho or a Steven Gerrard.

Speaking of the latter, he arguably provided the best tribute of the lot to his former teammate via social media site Instagram.

He said: "A player who gave his all for the club and shirt . Passion , desire , commitment, are a few words that spring mind , a great professional with an attitude that is an example to young aspiring players and those around him . I wish you all the luck in your future at Lazio . Thank you for being a great servant to LFC . YNWA @leivalucas."

Touching words from the former captain, who will understand better than anybody the impact Lucas had on the football club.
