Anthony Martial's cousin has confirmed on Twitter that Serie A giants Inter Milan are interested in signing the Manchester United forward.

The Independent reported on Wednesday that Inter have asked for the Frenchman to be included in the deal to bring Ivan Perisic to Old Trafford.

The Nerazzurri are refusing to deviate from their £48m asking price unless United include a player to sweeten the deal.

Inter's preferred player is Martial, although United are believed to be reluctant to sell and the player does not intend to leave.

And Martial's cousin has added further credence to recent reports, claiming on Twitter: "I confirm the interest from Inter for Antho. But his head is in Manchester and he is focused to make good preparation."

Despite Martial's struggles last season, United reportedly still see the 21-year-old as a player with huge potential.

There had been mention of the former Monaco striker leaving the club on loan next season, but he is believed to be keen to stay and fight to earn a regular starting place in Jose Mourinho's team.

Inter have also previously expressed an interest in United full-back Matteo Darmian, with United having offered the Italy international to Inter as part of the Perisic deal.

But after Darmian began to play more frequently towards the end of the season, Inter reportedly cooled their interest.

Martial appears to be staying put at United, but negotiations for Perisic continue to frustrate the Premier League club.
