Manchester City Step Up Summer Recruitment by Signing Ex-PSG Player as New French Scout
Manchester City have made a key addition to their backroom staff, bringing in ex-Paris Saint-Germain player Youness Bengelloun as the club's scout for French football.
The former player had somewhat of a wanderlust during his playing days, representing the likes of Olympiacos Nicosia, CSKA Sofia, FC Goa and Panserraikos during his somewhat underwhelming career.
As reported by the official Twitter page of City Watch, the 34-year-old will replace Romain Poirot at the Etihad Stadium, who is now undertaking work for Premier League side Watford and Serie A club Udinese.
Manchester City fans will be hoping to see their side strengthen further ahead of the 2017/18 season, having already spent big in the summer transfer window.
Among the new crop of signings are Brazilian wonderkid Douglas Luiz, Portuguese stopper Ederson, England star right-back Kyle Walker, and fellow wing-back Danilo - who has just joined from Real Madrid for £25m.
The Sky Blues seem determined to push on with their summer spending spree, with Monaco's left-back Benjamin Mendy likely to be signed next week, for a fee believed to be over £50m. The eye-watering sums of money spent by Pep Guardiola's side this summer will give the fans hope for next season, as they look to challenge for their first Premier League title since 2014.
