West Ham are lighting up the transfer window this summer, having completed the acquisition of Marko Arnautovic from Stoke City on Saturday.

The London side have already secured the loan signing of England goalkeeper Joe Hart, as well as ex-Man City defender Pablo Zabaleta; and a recent agreement should see them land Bayer Leverkusen hit-man Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez pretty soon.

Slaven Bilic aims to pair the exciting Mexican forward up front with his newest signing in a move that could put the Hammers right up there with the top teams in the Premier league next season.

Quotes from the  side's official website read: "West Ham United are delighted to announce the Club-record signing of Austria attacker Marko Arnautovic.

"The talented Arnautovic joins the Hammers from Stoke City, adding proven Premier League and international quality to Slaven Bilic’s forward line."

Arnautovic, who has signed a five-year deal, is set to become West ham's highest-ever earner with a £100,000-a-week deal agreed. And the club has also made him their most expensive signing, parting with £25m to seal the move. Their record fee prior to this one was the £20.5m shelled out for Ghanaian forward Andre Ayew.

Speaking on his move, the Austrian described West ham as a 'big club' and admitted he can't wait to get to the pitch.

“It feels special to me to be a West Ham player,” he declared.

“Everyone knows that West Ham is a big Club, with big history and I’m happy to be a part of it now. I can’t wait to get started.''

With yet another great signing in the bag, Hammers fans must be pretty upbeat, and with good reason, as their side will provide an intriguing watch next term.
