Jose Mourinho showed his comical side on Monday, as the Manchester United manager shared a friendly joke with superstar Gareth Bale regarding transfer rumours in the tunnel before a pre-season friendly.
In a report by the Daily Mail, the Portuguese coach was said to have made light of the well-reported rumblings regarding a potentially momentous move by Bale from Real Madrid to Man Utd.
Despite ruling-out such a move for the winger this season some days ago, Mourinho jokingly stated: 'I can't buy you because you don't talk to me'.
The whole amusing episode was caught on camera by Spanish TV, as the pair embraced within the tunnel of the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California before the Red Devils took on the Galacticos.
Previously, it was open secret within the world of football that Bale would have a place in Mourinho's team should he want to leave Los Blancos this summer. However, although the special one may be feeling anguish over not securing the Welsh wizard's services, the funny side seems apparent to both parties.
Bale, now 28, seems adamant to stay at Madrid for the time being, as he continues to prove himself to the club's demanding fans. It is understood that Britain's most expensive footballing export would like to honour his contract at Madrid, which runs until 2022.
