La Liga president Javier Tebas says Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are more important to Spanish football than Neymar.

Neymar is expected to complete a move to French giants Paris-Saint Germain this summer after growing frustrated at playing in the shadow of Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.

Messi and Real Madrid forward Ronaldo are widely considered to be the two best players in La Liga, with the pair winning the Ballon d'Or a combined nine times in the last nine years.

With Neymar set to leave Catalonia, Tebas believes it is more important for Messi and Ronaldo to stay in La Liga and has threatened to report PSG for violation of Financial Fair Play rules, regardless of whether the deal is completed legitimately.

"La Liga and Barcelona are bigger than Neymar," Tebas told Marca.

"I would be more worried if Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi left."

"Even if they don't pay the release clause [of Neymar] we will report them.

"They cannot make up some commercial numbers that are bigger than Barcelona or Real Madrid.

"Nobody believes that, which means that the state of Qatar is injecting money and that violates Financial Fair Play."

Neymar's move to PSG could reportedly be worth £220m, making the Brazil international the most expensive player in the world just one year after Paul Pogba's transfer to Manchester United broke the previous record held by Gareth Bale.

The former Santos man is eager to win a Ballon d'Or and reportedly feels he will be unable to become the best player in the world if he continues to play alongside Messi at the Nou Camp.
