Brighton have confirmed the signing of midfielder Davy Propper for a club record fee from PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch international has signed a four-year deal with the newly-promoted Premier League side, although the fee was undisclosed.

The 25-year-old has made over 250 appearances in the Netherlands, scoring 43 goals and helping PSV to the Eredivisie title in 2015-16.

"Davy is a player with great experience of the Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem and PSV Eindhoven," Brighton boss Chris Hughton said.

"There is no doubting his pedigree, Davy has played a number of matches in the Champions League for PSV, as well as international football for the Netherlands.

"He's a strong competitor as a central midfielder and will complement our existing midfield players, and he is also a really good age at 25; we are absolutely delighted to welcome him to the club."

Propper began his career with Vitesse Arnhem in 2010, going on to play over 150 times for his hometown club before securing a move to PSV in 2015.

His first international cap came against USA in 2015, and he has since gone on to win five caps for the Netherlands.

Propper, who scored ten goals for PSV last season, has also represented the Netherlands at under-19 and under-21 level.
