Grant Wahl’s ‘Masters of Modern Soccer’ Dives Deep Into the Beautiful Game

Sports Illustrated senior writer Grant Wahl and Crown Archetype, an imprint of Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing Group, have teamed to bring you Masters of Modern Soccer: How the World's Best Play the Twenty-First-Century Game, a close-up look at what makes some of the game’s greatest so successful.

Due on May 1, 2018, Wahl’s book includes profiles of players at every position, including Christian Pulisic, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez, Xabi Alonso, Manuel Neuer and Vincent Kompany, offering a look into how they think on and off the pitch.

Wahl sought to explain how the smartest players and coaches in the game comprehend and master their craft, also profiling Belgium coach Roberto Martinez and Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc.
