20-year-old Sheffield United midfielder David Brooks is looking to take the next step in a career which is beginning to pick up after a call-up to the senior Wales squad under Chris Coleman.

Brooks represented England at Under 21 level in the summer, impressing in the Toulon Tournament Festival, and has also shown promise for his club. The midfielder gave a strong performance as the Blades beat fierce rivals Sheffield Wednesday in September.

However, it appears that Brooks has decided to make the transition to represent Wales instead. His first international appearance in a senior squad is a crowning moment for the young star.

Now, Liverpool might be ready to make more of Brooks's dreams come true by bringing him over to Anfield, according to TEAMTalk. The Reds are in a line of suitors, but are very hopeful that they can prise him away from the Blades, who signed him to a long-term deal earlier in 2017.

The fact that they are already looking to instigate a new one is a strong indication that Sheffield United will struggle to hold on to Brooks, and it is likely that he will move after the end of this season.

Perhaps Ben Woodburn, Wales and Liverpool's latest prodigy, could play a part in attracting the youngster to join.
