Chelsea Star Claims 'My Wife Is Miles Ahead of Anyone' After Turning Down Fan's Advances

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has turned down the opportunity to spend a night with one persistent fan after his man of the match performance against Manchester United on Sunday.

The Blues ran out 1-0 victors over Jose Mourinho's men, stumping the Red Devils' hopes of catching Manchester City at the top of the table - and despite Alvaro Morata being the difference between the two sides, it was his compatriot Fabregas who caught the eye the most.

The 30-year-old won the man of the match award after the win, which prompted an ahem 'unusual' Twitter request from a particularly overjoyed fan.

However, the father of three was quick to deny the fan's request - adding that no one could ever match up to his wife.

"No thank you. My wife is miles ahead of anyone," the 2010 World Cup winner wrote.

Fabregas has been with his Lebanese-born partner Daniella Semaan since 2011 and they have three children together.

Speaking with Sky, after the victory over United (via Goal), Fabregas was asked if he expected the game to be as open as it was.

"Probably, yes. We had plenty of chances in the first half and in the second as well, to be honest. I think it was a very good performance." The Spaniard said.

"Maybe a little bit more awkward than we expected."

Antonio Conte's side are now fourth in the Premier League table with 22 points - nine behind leaders Manchester City.

The Italian manager now turns his attention to November 18. With a number of his players away on international duty, Conte has 11 days to prepare for his side's trip to the Hawthorns, where Chelsea take on Tony Pulis' West Brom.
